Every year at the beginning of January a remarkable and inspiring conference is taking place: motivating, integrative and communicative.

Since 36 years the “Northern-European Exchange of Experiences” appeals people of countries around the Baltic Sea in counseling, caring and supporting jobs.

Psychotherapist and pastoral worker, physicians and pastoral-psychologists, politically and socially engaged consultants and counselors of different schools, deacons and social workers are associated in a straight and personal dialogue. Professional lectures give occasion to discuss present and current social phenomena or to implement new results of research.

Supporting elements of the conference are liturgical formed meditations (morning and evening prayer) and the church service on Epiphany-festival. Thematical working groups like f.e. bible-drama, Gestalt-therapy, family-therapy, dance and movement, dream-analysis and methods of supervision warrant continuous space for personal subjects.

Languages of the conference are English and German.

But the particular characteristics of this congress are the atmosphere featured by empathy and estimation, love of life and the ability to relish. This particularly happens in spaces between lectures and at a casual get together in the evening with dance and performance. The conference closes with a culinary and companionable festive evening looking forward to the next year.

The classy ambience of the “Akademie Sankelmark” (near Flensburg) provides the frame where exchange of thoughts and experiences, relief of strain and the means of professional training will be similarly respected. The congress is accredited by the Ärztekammer Schleswig-Holstein.
